Drinking Water Facility

The Client

A drinking water facility with a treatment requirement of 1 ppm free chlorine. The facility operates with two separate chlorination points.

Project Overview

The client was using calcium hypochlorite across two different chlorination points to meet its water treatment requirements. The PROVITAB 3™ system was implemented as a way to consolidate the process and provide a more efficient and cost-effective solution.

The goal was to demonstrate how the PROVITAB 3™ system could meet the facility’s needs while reducing chemical consumption, labor, and overall operational expenses.

Our Impact

By implementing the PROVITAB 3™ system, the client achieved substantial improvements in efficiency and significant cost reductions.

  • Lower Total Usage: The facility’s total chemical consumption over six days dropped from 50.93 lb of calcium hypochlorite to just 8.27 lb of PROVITAB 3™, leading to a massive reduction in product usage.
  • Longer Time Between Refills: The time for replenishment increased from every 2 days to every 6 days. This meant fewer interruptions, reduced labor costs, and a more streamlined operation.
  • Significant Cost Reduction: The total cost for the same six-day period was reduced by a remarkable 62.85%, demonstrating a faster return on investment and a more economically sound choice for the facility.

The project successfully proved that the PROVITAB 3™ system is a superior solution, offering not only effective disinfection but also significant savings and operational benefits.
